Northeastern Rural Health Clinics, Inc. (NRHC) is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center governed by a voluntary Board of Directors made up of people in our community. NRHC is the major provider of outpatient care to Lassen County. Northeastern Health Center (NHC) is housed in a 27,000 square foot facility in Susanville, California. NHC's facility was built in 2005 and includes eight provider suites, a retail pharmacy, classrooms, dental office, a staff of 100+ employees and room for future expansion.
Our mission statement is to: Provide quality, comprehensive, preventive, and accessible health care service, regardless of an ability to pay; meet the changing needs of our communities with creativity and innovation.
NRHC has 4 family practice physicians, 6 midlevel providers, two dentists, Registered Dental Hygienist and a Childbirth Educator.Our services include providing primary care, obstetrics, urgent care, occupational medicine, case management, dental care, health/nutrition/childbirth education, and Women and Infant Care (WIC) services.
Northeastern Health Center is located next door to a state of the art hospital, Banner Lassen Medical Center. We currently provide over 60,000 patient visits per year with an annual budget of $6.7 million. Grants comprise approximately 25% of our annual revenues, and 40% of our patients are privately insured.
We accept Medicare, Medi-Cal, most private insurances, and offer a discount fee program for the uninsured. We participate in a variety of public programs to improve health care access for all.
Beautiful Lassen County is located on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada range, at 4,200 feet, with a four-season climate. Outdoor activities abound, including fishing, hiking, bicycling, golfing, hunting, water sports, and snow sports. With a population of 10,000, the Susanville area offers a rural, small-town environment with great schools and a community college.
